Okay, down to brass tacks.

State of California
DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL

The following information is provided to customers so that they may have a better understanding of the control and purchase of Keg Beer in the State of California.

"Pursuant to Section 25659.5 Business and Professions Code, every retail licensee in this state selling kegs of beer holding 6 gallons or more for consumption off the licensed premises must do the following:

a.  Complete a Beer Keg Regisration Receipt which shall include the name and address of the purchaser and the purchaser's California driver license number or other bona fide I.D Number.

b.  Examine identification document presented by the purchaser and print the I.D. information on the Beer Keg Registration Receipt.

c.  Complete all other information required on the Receipt form."

WARNING

IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR A PERSON TO FURNISH ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES TO ANYONE WHO HAS NOT ATTAINED THE AGE OF 21 YEARS (Section 25658(a) of the ABC ACT).  POSSESSION OF A KEG CONTAINING BEER, EXCEPT BY LICENSEES, WHICH IS NOT IDENTIFIED BY THE NUMBERED BEER IDENTIFICATION TAG(S) IS PROHIBITED BY LAW (SECTION 25659.5 OF THE ABC ACT).  ANY PURCHASER WHO PROVIDES FALSE INFORMATION ON THE RECEIPT SHALL BE GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR (SECTION 25659.5 OF THE ABC ACT).

As such and based of the foregoing, ALL customers will be required to complete a Keg Registration Form upon delivery of any keg of beer containing 6 gallons or more.

Age Requirement. You must be at least 21 years old to order and receive alcoholic beverages from us. Our drivers are extremely diligent in verifying the age of customers upon delivery. No ID....NO product! Be sure to have your valid drivers license handy! If you are paying by credit card, YOU MUST be present upon delivery, with your credit card.

Payment. (Got to look after the important stuff first!). Payment may be made by credit card or cash. If you are paying by credit card, you must provide the store the necessary credit card information at the time of placing an order. Charges against the credit card are not processed at the time you place the order.  Credit cards are processed on the actual day of delivery; either at the store on on-site via a mobile processing unit.  Once again, if you are paying by credit card, you must be present at the time of delivery with your credit card and proper identification.

Deposits. Although we do NOT charge a rental fee for our taps and buckets, we do have a "100% refundable deposit" policy in effect. The reason for this is quite simple....we want to make sure we get our equipment back within a reasonable time and in good working order. Upon return of the aforementioned items (see, we can use big words, we just don't like to), your "deposit" will be returned to you.  If you paid your deposit in cash, we will remit the cash (the exact same bills you gave us). Debit cards CAN NOT be used for deposits as the amount of deposit on equipment often exceeds the individual daily limit.  The amount of the deposit is 'held' against the credit card.  We ask that all equipment be returned in good order within 3-4 days following delivery. Failure to return the equipment in the stated timeframe, may result in your deposit being forfeited. If you have a requirement to keep the equipment longer than four days, you must obtain consent from the Management, otherwise, your deposit may be forfeited.

Deposit Amounts. The following are the current amounts required for deposits:

Per Keg $50.00
Per Pump $50.00
Per Tub $20.00
Jockey Box $500.00
Air Tank with Regulator $100.00
Air Tank Only $85.00
Regulator Only $50.00

Delivery. Of course, you are welcome to pick up your order at our Mission/Geneva location, however, we do deliver within the city of San Francisco. Delivery is FREE with a minimum purchase of $100.00 (not including taxes and deposits). We do not normally deliver for purchases under that amount. If you are unsure if we deliver to where your function is being held, just give us a call. If we can work something out.....we will.

Surcharge. Effective January 1st, 2010, Mike's will be applying a surcharge for all deliveries. Charges will be applied as follows:

a. San Francisco - Free (with minimum purchase of $100.00).  If minimum purchase is not met, gas surcharge is as follows:

h. Treasure Island - $10.00 (with minimum purchase of $100.00).

Please note, that deliveries out of the county of San Francisco remains at the discretion of Management, especially on weekends.  Please plan ahead.

Pick-up Service. We do provide a pick up service. The fee for this service is $20.00 for pick-ups in the city of San Francisco.  An additional surcharge will be applied for pick-ups outside of the city of San Francisco.  You can order the pick-up service on-line as with a normal delivery.  Please choose a date and pick-up window. For those who require a pick up service on the same day as the delivery, the fee for that service is $50.00.  And as a friendly reminder, we offer a 'pick-up' service, not a 'clean-up' service.  Please ensure that your keg bucket(s) and or jockey boxes are empty of all water and debris.

Jockey Boxes. Basically, a jockey box is a cooler, with 150 ft of stainless steel tubing in in it (as well as a lot of ice). The keg is hooked up to a CO2 tank and the beer is forced through the tubing and into your glass/mug/pitcher. We also equip your box with the appropriate tap handle applicable to your brand of beer. Jockey Boxes are ideal for bbqs,. receptions and the like..........they are extremely convenient and they look cool! We have two sizes:

Single. For dispensing one keg at a time - $20.00 rental fee plus deposit
Double. For dispensing two kegs at the same time - $25.00 fee plus deposit.

The rental fee for the jockey box system is based on a maximum of a four day rental. If you do not return the equipment within four days, you will be charged an additional rental fee ($20.00 or $25.00 as applicable). Please discuss your rental requirements with Management prior to delivery/pick-up

Ordering. The real reason why you came to this page :-) After you have finalized your order, you can order four different ways: On-line, by fax, by phone or in person.

Selection. We always have an enormous selection of keg beer in house. However, weekends are extremely busy (go figure?). We therefore s t r o n g l y recommend that you get your weekend order in as early as possible......Thursday okay with you?

Delivery Window. Our delivery window is somewhat larger. . But remember, we deliver keg beer and lug it up stairs, so cut us some slack! When ordering we require a three (3) hour delivery window. Although our delivery system is superb/excellent/we try our best, we cannot forecast road conditions, traffic, or the length of individual deliveries (we weren't kiddin' about the stairs). So, there may be occasions when we are running late. Please don't panic!! If we have confirmed your order, we SHALL be there and we SHALL deliver. Our delivery windows are as follows:

10 AM to 1 PM
11 AM TO 2 PM
12 PM TO 3 PM
1 PM TO 4 PM
2 PM TO 5 PM
Ice and Cups. All of our beer is maintained at a very cold temperature. However, it don't stay that way forever! You will need ice to maintain the keg and more importantly, the contents of it, at optimum temperatures. Don't forget to order ice! For a single keg, we recommend a 6 pack and for a single jockey box, 11/2x 6 packs and for a double jockey box; at least 2 x 6 packs. It will take 3-4 single bags to fill a keg bucket. A lot of people forget to order cups or think they don't need them..................until they go to do the dishes the following morning....just something to think about.

Summary. Wow! A lot more reading than we wanted to have....you must be dying of thirst by now! Although we have attempted to answer most of the common questions asked, we are just as confident that you may have more. Please do not hesitate to contact us with them. We are NOT a corporation....we're a small locally owned business....you won't get the run-a-round.....although you may be placed on hold :-) Did we mention we're small?

Thanks for allowing us to be your source of choice!
